About

DSC_0055I’m an NCTJ-qualified freelance journalist based in London. I specialise in housing, social affairs, politics, development and local government. My articles have appeared in the Guardian, Inside Housing, the New Statesman, the New Internationalist, Red Pepper, The Positive and OpenDemocracy. I have also freelanced for BBC Radio.

Before I became a journalist, I was an elected City Councillor in Norwich from 2008-2012, and completed an MA in Development Studies at the University of East Anglia. I am also a volunteer with Radar, an NGO which trains citizen journalists in the Global South to report events and influence policy using mobile technology.

If you’re a commissioning editor or just someone who’s interested in my work, I can be contacted on sa[dot]jeraj[at]gmail[dot]com. My twitter handle is @sajeraj.
