About
I’m an NCTJ-qualified freelance journalist based in London. I specialise in housing, social affairs, politics, development and local government. My articles have appeared in the Guardian, The Independent, Inside Housing, the New Statesman, the BBC, Channel 4 News, the New Internationalist, and OpenDemocracy.
Before I became a journalist, I was an elected City Councillor in Norwich from 2008-2012, and completed an MA in Development Studies at the University of East Anglia. I am a volunteer director at Generation Rent, and chair of the Deyika Nzeribe Fund – a fund to support people of colour to be involved and become leaders in Green politics.
If you’re a commissioning editor or just someone who’s interested in my work, I can be contacted on sa[dot]jeraj[at]gmail[dot]com. My twitter handle is @sajeraj.
