I’m an NCTJ-qualified freelance journalist based in London. I specialise in housing, social affairs, politics, development and local government. My articles have appeared in the Guardian, The Independent, Inside Housing, the New Statesman, the BBC,  the New Internationalist, and OpenDemocracy.

Before I became a journalist, I was an elected City Councillor in Norwich from 2008-2012, and completed an MA in Development Studies at the University of East Anglia. I am a volunteer director at Generation Rent, and chair of the Deyika Nzeribe Fund.

If you’re a commissioning editor or just someone who’s interested in my work, I can be contacted on sa[dot]jeraj[at]gmail[dot]com. My twitter handle is @sajeraj.
