For the Green European Journal, I looked at how Green Party administrations in Europe have approached prisons and criminal justice. What I found was that they were largely operating within a reformist approach, with their most radical strides coming as a result of their stance on drugs and sex work. However, there were examples to draw on where Greens could be bolder and moving into a more “abolitionist” position.
